Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Description
This quilt is a remarkable creation made by Geidy, who perseveres through poverty. This quilt is a testament to her resilience and creativity. Using one-inch hexagons in playful colors, she has crafted a stunning scrap and hexagon design.
Every hexagon meticulously cut and sewn together forms a vibrant tapestry of colors. The quilt blooms with shades of pinks, reds and white resembling a bursting flower design. The combination of these joyful hues creates an enchanting and lively atmosphere.
Despite the challenges she faces, Geidy has poured her heart and soul into this quilt. Each hexagon is carefully aligned to create the intricate flower pattern. The quilt showcases Geidy's attention to detail and her ability to transform small fabric pieces into a stunning work of art. After multiple miscarriages Geidy's one desire is to become a mother one day. Though bearing a child in poverty is not ideal, it is a life line that keeps mothers taken care of in their old age.
