Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Description
I have a wonderful family. I lost my mom and my sister Yessi but I know it was God’s will that I would have those two precious angels in heaven. That was the saddest thing that has happened to me but sewing has helped me a lot. I have learned a new thing and it keeps my mind occupied with other thoughts.
Living in the bordo [communities situated on the rivers' levees] is very nice because one learns to share with others. I might not be agile working with my hands but I do it with love and feeling very grateful."
