Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

Description

The Maker of this quilt, Skull and Bone Garden was Elba. This baby quilt is so cool because of the beautiful combination of colors and the skull and crossbone fabric.  This is perfect for that hip and funky baby in your life.  (Okay, at least a hip and funky couple having a baby in your life!)
Elba is a newer maker and such a sweet young person.  Here is a little Elba wrote about herself!

"My name is Elba. I was born on August 14, 2000 and I am in free union with my partner. I have 3 children, Kimberly, 18 months old, and Ruth Nohemy, 6 years old, in kindergarten, and my step son, José Belarmino, 14 years old, in 9th grade.

My husband works as a gardener and I have a job because I dedicate myself to taking care of my children at home. I don't have much experience sewing but I am willing to learn as I go along. I want to sew because I love to sew, and it is a way of working at home. That way I can take care of my children without neglecting them. My last academic year was the fifth grade.  The hardest thing that has happened to me is my economic situation. The best thing that has happened to me is having my parents and my children."
