“Poverty and education are inextricably linked, because people living in poverty may stop going to school so they can work, which leaves them without literacy and numeracy skills they need to further their careers. Their children, in turn, are in a similar situation years later, with little income and few options but to leave school and work.” ChildFund
Here at One Common Thread we are determined to break that chain and help our Makers send and keep their children in school. In Honduras most children 6-12 years of age should be in school but that isn't usually the reality. The initial school supplies and uniform fees can cost $40 and keep children from attending school. Our hope is to help as many of our Makers as we can with this cost so they can enroll their student(s) in school.
Please consider a donation of $40 to help one of these children.
