Handmade baby quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Description
The At Last is a stunner! This beauty was made by our single mother Mirna. She has written a little about herself to tell you a little about her background.
"Hello, good afternoon, blessings, my name is Mirna. I lived in Valle Maugalena, La Jigua Copan, Honduras. When I was five-years-old, my mother died and my grandparents raised me. Twenty years later, my grandparents died, and then I worked with my godmother at home and I studied with the director of the Morazan school.
I attended until the fifth grade at that school. After I turned fourteen-years-old, I came to Copan. I lived there with my husband for 17 years and I had three children and I had them in the Santa de Copan. I had to separate from my husband because of problems... and he kept my children.
Then I came to San Pedro Sula and worked for two years and I fell in love again. I'm with my partner and I live very happily with my partner. I have beautiful daughter with my partner. And I came to live here at the Bordo.
My friend Yeymi lives on the same land where we live, and she sews too. I want to thank God, and I thank you. You give us the opportunity to work.... I feel happy working. That is all. Oh sorry I couldn't write very well. And may God bless you always. 😘😘😘😘"
