Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

Description

The Scrap Hexi design is a classic and timeless pattern for quilts, known for its intricate and colorful motifs. Clivian's choice to use this design for the quilt showcases her attention to detail and her desire to create a visually appealing and vibrant piece.

Clivian's dedication to sewing and her collaboration with her sister Delia demonstrate their determination to support themselves and their children. At 26 years-old, Clivian faces the challenges of raising her three children without the support of a husband or boyfriend. However, she embraces her role as a mother and finds strength in providing for her family.

Working from home allows Clivian the flexibility to balance her responsibilities as a mother while still earning an income. She is grateful for the opportunity to have employment that accommodates her circumstances. The quilt she creates is not only a testament to her sewing skills but also a symbol of her commitment to her children's well-being.

Clivian's journey highlights the challenges faced by single mothers living in poverty, but it also showcases their resilience and strength. Despite the difficulties she encounters, Clivian finds fulfillment and joy in raising her children.
