Hexagon Quilts for Your Holiday Decor
Hexagon Quilts Are the Holiday Decor You'll Keep Forever
The holidays have a way of sneaking up on you. One day it still feels like summer, and the next you're realizing Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas isn't nearly as far away as it seemed.
Which means, whether we're ready for it or not, it's probably time to start thinking about the Holidays.
The decorating. The gifts. The people coming to stay. The little traditions that somehow make your home feel completely different for a few weeks every year.
Maybe you're the person who already has bins of Holiday decor waiting in the attic. Maybe you're the person who adds a few new pieces every year. Or maybe you're just looking for something that makes your home feel a little warmer and more special this season.
That's exactly why we love our holiday hexagon quilts.
With festive colors, hundreds of tiny hand-sewn hexagons, and the kind of craftsmanship you don't find in most holiday decor, they're pieces made for Christmas now and for many Christmases to come.
Holiday Decor That Does More Than Decorate
There's a difference between decorating for the season and creating that feeling you want your home to have during the Holidays.
The tree and ornaments certainly help. But there's something about adding a handmade holiday quilt to the couch or spreading one across a guest bed that makes the whole room feel warmer.
Our Christmas and holiday quilts bring those familiar seasonal colors into your home through hundreds of individual pieces of fabric. Reds, greens, creams, and unexpected patterns come together to create something festive without feeling like just another decoration you picked up for the season.
And unlike the holiday blanket you might grab from a store, every hexagon in ours has been stitched by hand.
Our Makers in Honduras use a technique called English Paper Piecing to carefully sew each piece together. A single quilt can contain a thousand hexagons or more, each individually sewn before the entire design comes together.
So while it may become part of your Christmas decor, it certainly wasn't made like ordinary Christmas decor.
The Holiday Quilt That Comes Out Every Year
Some of the best decorations are the ones with a history.
The ornament you bought on a family trip. The stockings you've hung for years. The decorations your children made when they were little.
We think a handmade Christmas quilt can become one of those pieces.
Maybe this year it's brand new, folded across the back of the couch or waiting for guests at the end of the bed. Next year, you already know exactly where you want to put it. A few years from now, pulling it out of storage might be one of those little things that tells everyone in the house that it is that time of year again.
That's one of our favorite things about our holiday quilts. Each one has its own combination of fabrics, colors, and patterns. Even when two quilts feel perfectly suited for a specific holiday, they don't feel exactly the same.
You aren't just choosing Holiday decor.
You're choosing your perfect Holiday quilt.
Made for Cozy Fall and Winter Mornings
Of course, we don't want our holiday quilts to spend the whole season sitting perfectly folded over the back of a couch.
They're meant to be used.
Pull one over your lap for a Christmas movie. Let the kids curl up underneath it while you read together. Put it on the guest bed when family comes to stay. Bring it into the living room.
A handmade quilt gets better when it becomes part of real life.
And over time, those ordinary little moments are what give it a story.
That's what we hope happens with our holiday hexagon quilts. We hope they're beautiful decorations, of course. But we also hope someone grabs one when they're cold. We hope they end up in your family holiday photos. We hope they get dragged from the couch to the floor during a movie night.
They're too special not to use.
A Gift They'll Still Have Years From Now
And while you're starting to think about holiday decor, there's also that other list that's about to get longer: the gift list.
Our holiday hexagon quilts make pretty special gifts, particularly for the people who are nearly impossible to shop for.
Most of us don't need another gift that gets used for a few months and forgotten. A handmade quilt is different. It's something someone can bring out every year, use with their family, and eventually pass along to someone else.
For newlyweds celebrating their first Christmas, grandparents, parents, or someone settling into a new home, a handmade holiday quilt can mark a particular Holiday while still being useful for decades afterward.
And because every quilt is made by hand, no two are exactly alike.
You can browse our finished holiday quilts to find one that's ready to give this season, or explore our hexagon quilt kits if you'd rather give someone the experience of creating something themselves.
Something Worth Bringing Out Every Year
Eventually, January comes. The tree comes down, the ornaments get wrapped back up, and the holiday quilt gets folded away.
But that's not the end of it.
Next Holiday Season, you get to bring it out again.
And maybe that's what makes a handmade holiday quilt such a special piece of decor. It isn't something you bought because it happened to match this year's trend. It's something that can become more meaningful the longer you own it.
