An Unexpected Fourth of July Conversation at Stadium of Fire

Sometimes, the most unexpected conversations become the biggest opportunities to share a mission.

This Fourth of July, we experienced one of those moments at Stadium of Fire in Provo, Utah.

Surrounded by thousands of people celebrating Independence Day, we had an unexpected opportunity to share the story of One Common Thread, our nonprofit, and the handmade hexagon quilts that have become a source of hope for women in Honduras.

That conversation happened with Brad Paisley.

As we shared how One Common Thread began with a simple desire to create meaningful work for women living in poverty, Brad took a genuine interest in our mission. He took the time to listen, stopped for a photo, and later shared the moment on social media. Suddenly, thousands of people at Stadium of Fire, along with many more online, were introduced to One Common Thread and the work that means so much to us.

While meeting Brad Paisley was certainly an unforgettable experience, what meant the most was the opportunity to share the stories behind our handmade hexagon quilts.

Every quilt represents far more than beautiful craftsmanship. Each hexagon is carefully cut, folded, and stitched by hand by talented women in Honduras. Every stitch represents meaningful work, financial opportunity, and hope for a brighter future. Through our nonprofit, these women are able to earn an income, provide for their families, and build greater independence while working from home.

Moments like this remind us that you never know where sharing your story might lead. Whether we are speaking at a quilting group, meeting someone at a community event, or having an unexpected conversation at Stadium of Fire, every opportunity to talk about One Common Thread helps more people discover the mission behind our handmade hexagon quilts.

We are incredibly grateful to Brad Paisley for taking the time to learn about One Common Thread and for helping introduce our nonprofit to so many people. Most of all, we are grateful for every person who continues to support our mission by purchasing our handmade quilts, sharing our story, and believing in the women who make this work possible.

Thank you for helping us continue weaving hope, opportunity, and connection, one handmade hexagon quilt at a time.
