Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Description
Adalila is the master artist on this quilt called Plains of Oklahoma. Adalila is a mother of many children and is still raising her 5 grandchildren. She has five grandkids who live with her full time from the ages 18 mos-8 years old. She is in charge of all of their needs and making sure these children attend school. She is an amazing Abuela and works so hard sewing everyday to provide for these children.
Recently we were able to help Adalila get a refrigerator to keep their food cold and help it last for a longer period of time. Along with that fridge we provided food to fill the fridge along with diapers and milk to help meet the needs of these growing children. As much as Adalila is able to sew it truly is a hard task for her to meet all of the demands both temporally, emotionally and physically of 5 small grandchildren.
