Handmade baby quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Description
This quilt, aptly named "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," showcases a stunning sunbeam design, making it a true masterpiece. The complexity and intricacy of this quilt reflect the exceptional skill and expertise of our Maker, Juli.
Juli is one of our most experienced Makers and has played a vital role in the establishment of One Common Thread. Her dedication and hard work have been instrumental in the success of our organization.
In addition to her contributions as a Maker, Juli is a devoted mother who works tirelessly to care for her two children. However, she faces challenges in providing them with consistent access to education, particularly due to the limitations posed by the pandemic and their recent move to a rural area.
The lack of adequate devices for remote learning adds an additional layer of difficulty for Juli's children. Despite these challenges, Juli remains resilient and maintains a positive outlook. Her unwavering support for her extended family and her infectious smile are a testament to her strength and determination.
