Jessica is in the 8th grade and is 14 years old. She is grateful she is having the opportunity to continue her education past the usual 6th grade. Jessica is just a doll and attends school only on Saturdays. Most days she helps her mother with household chores in the morning and in the afternoon she sews.
During a recent visit to Honduras Jessica pulled me aside and asked if she could possibly get a dresser for the little clothing she owns. She is also turning 15 in December and has a great hope of saving for a simple quinceñera dress.
Though these needs are not desperate they are easily relatable. What teenage girl doesn't want a new dress and a dresser to put her clothes? Jessica shares a little home with a curtain that separates her parents bed from hers. She shares a bed with her 6 year old brother and she simply would like a dresser. I think it would be such a blessing to this sweet, quiet Maker.
