Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Description:
Our sweet little Teresa made this beautiful quilt called Shout Hosanna. Teresa is one of our smallest makers, but she has an incredible talent for sewing, a skill she has honed through her work with One Common Thread. Despite the challenges she faces, Teresa is a dedicated mother to her beautiful little girl, a miracle child, as she was not supposed to be able to have children. She supports her family with the income she earns from sewing, and recently, she was able to put a new roof on her house and install cement flooring in her kitchen and bathroom, a huge blessing for her family.
Teresa suffers from a condition called "stunning," which affects her health, but she continues to persevere and take pride in her work. Her home, though small and modest, is impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, a testament to her resilience and love for her family. Despite having so little, she creates a warm and inviting space for her daughter. When her daughter has been ill, Teresa has been able to access necessary medications, and she is incredibly grateful to the customers who purchase her quilts, allowing her to provide for her child's needs.
This Shout Hosanna quilt is not only a work of art but an heirloom-worthy piece, perfect for passing down through generations. Teresa’s story is one of perseverance, love, and gratitude, and this quilt reflects her dedication and the beautiful family memories she is building.
