Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
This quilt was made by our sweet 14 year old Jessica. Jessica is about to graduate from the 9th grade which is an awesome achievement in Honduras. Only 43% of girls finish the 6th grade so we are so proud that Jessica keeps working and studying.
Jessica is excited to celebrate her quincenera in December 2022 and has been saving all year for a special occasion. She sews during the day when she finishes her school work Right now she attends school in the city which is a 2 hour bus ride away. She only attends school on Saturdays and does home school the other days of the week. She is such a darling young woman and we have high hopes for her getting her high school certificate in two years.
