Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
This beautiful quilt called Eclipse and is a gorgeous balance of yellow, black and white. The Maker of this quilt is Joana. Joana is 19-years old. She has a 2-year-old daughter and is from San Pedro Sula. She has a 6th grade education and she is grateful to have an income by working for One Common Thread. Her goals are to go back to school to finish the basics, get a degree, and to give her daughter a better future.
Recently with donations from One Common Thread donors she was able to have a a new roof put on her house and cement laid on the ground. She is a shy woman and so her sweet gratitude came with lots of tears and whispers of thanks. This quilt is absolutely beautiful and will make a gorgeous addition to anyone's home.
