Marta's journey is truly remarkable, and her dedication to her craft and entrepreneurial spirit are truly inspiring. The quilt she has created with 1" hexagons in red white and blue colors is called, British Royalty, and is a gorgeous rendition of the Union Jack.
Discovering Marta's sewing skills while walking through the slums was a fortuitous encounter. It became evident that she had been quietly helping a friend who already sewed for One Common Thread. Recognizing Marta's potential and her genuine enthusiasm, she was promptly welcomed into the program, complete with her own bank account and projects.
Since joining One Common Thread, Marta has found joy and fulfillment in her work. Her commitment and hard work have paid off, enabling her to purchase a refrigerator. This acquisition not only represents a tangible improvement in her living conditions but also opened up a new opportunity for Marta. Utilizing her refrigerator, Marta started a frozen chocolate banana stand from her home, providing her with an additional income stream.
