Madeline is such a special girl. She lived in the bordo (slum) of San Pedro Sula until she was 17 years old. By that time she had given birth to her daughter Bereth. Sadly in July 2020 the gang dominance in her bordo became so severe and the police were no longer answering calls for the violence in the bordo (because of fear of contracting CoVid 19) that Madeline and her family had to flee the bordo. The gangs there literally told her parents they were going to kill them and steal their daughters.
After relocating to a different part of the country Madeline has been trying to take one day at a time. At first they didn't have a house so donations from One Common Thread helped them build a small house. Other donations helped pay for beds so her family didn't have to sleep on a concrete floor. Though Madeline and her mother sew everyday the money they earn pays for their food and small expenses for living. Madeline would love to continue her schooling to get her high school certificate.
To attend school at her level she would need a small laptop and help with a monthly tuition payment. If you would like to donate a laptop feel free to contact Courtney @ email@example.com and you can send a laptop to her. If you would like to donate to buy Madeline a laptop you can do that on our donation page. If you would like to help with her monthly tuition costs of $50 you can do that here. Every $50 spent here will purchase her one month of schooling. Right now we estimate she has 24 months to go.
I have made this donation tax free and it obviously has no shipping costs so every penny of your $50 donation here will go to her school. You can also purchase more than one month of school for her by selecting multiple quantities. Thank you for your support!
Eventually Madeline would love to study law.
