Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
This is a beautiful quilt in a repetitive snowflake pattern. It has a gorgeous mix of pale pastel colors and is a very large quilt with a super soft turquoise minky backing.
Joana made this quilt. Joana has one child and a disabled husband. She is a hard worker and very determined to get her stitches right. With money donated to One Common Thread she has saved enough to buy her first refrigerator. She also just built an entirely new house up away from the river to have a safer place to raise her daughter. Sometimes the river would rise so high it would flood her old house but now she is on higher ground and feels much safer.
This quilt is not perfect but it is a labor of love and very very large. This quilt boats more than 2,300 hexis!
