Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

Description

Neidy made this one of a kind quilt that is full of fall colors and reminds us of changing leaves.  Neidy is a mother of three and keeps a very tidy house.  Education has always been important to her when it comes to her children and her oldest has already graduated high school and is saving to attend the local university.  Her oldest son's name is Tito and he has even studied English his entire life in the slums and speaks very decent English.  We know his accomplishments are due to Neidy's excellent mothering.

Neidy also runs a little "tienda" store from the front window of her home.  She sells small items such as chips, soda, water and candy to the people that live in her slum.  She is a very hard worker and while she waits for customers she is able to sew.  She is grateful for the opportunity she has to work and provide for her family.
