The Makers Homes in the Bordo

The women that are making quilts and quilts kits for One Common Thread live in homes that aren’t so beautiful, but inside of them they are creating beautiful works of art. Most homes are a rectangle structure about 12' x 16' if they are lucky.  The floors are sometimes concrete but most of the time they are solid dirt.  Outside of their homes are toilets with a sewage tank buried in the ground.

Luckily in this slum there is a little bit of electricity so most women have a few naked bulbs in the house and an outlet with many plugs! Homes are sometimes made of wood but many times the walls are just large pieces of landscape plastic. The rain in the bordo is the most common enemy because most houses have water leaks that cause for a lot of frustration.
